How high should the bathroom mirror be placed?
Simple instructions on how to get the bathroom mirror height right.
Bathroom mirrors are an essential part of any bathroom decor. Not only do they serve to reflect our image, but they can also help create a feeling of spaciousness and brightness in the room.
Bathroom mirrors come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but one often overlooked aspect is the height at which they are placed.
At what height to put the bathroom mirror?
Let's start by saying that there is no rigid rule to respect: the factors to consider are the size of the mirror, the type of furniture and washbasin to which the mirror must be combined, the average height of the people who will use it.
However, to give you a general idea of the measurements, we can say that between the mirror and the sink you should leave between 30 and 40cm; between the sink top and the mirror, on the other hand, you should leave between 20 and 40cm.
One recommendation above all is to make the width of the mirror coincide with that of the sink or cabinet. For an optimal visual effect it is good that these two elements are aligned.
If for particular design reasons the mirror is round or in any case smaller than the piece of furniture, this must be centered with respect to the sink.
A round mirror should be positioned about 160cm from the ground in order to almost perfectly center the gaze of the user.
The round mirror in most cases will not have the same width as that of the piece of furniture so the recommendation is to position the mirror centered with respect to the size of the washbasin.
If instead you prefer a rectangular mirror, with vertical installation, the distance from the ground to consider is about 150cm. With this position even the tallest people will be able to see themselves in the mirror easily.
If, on the other hand, the rectangular mirror is installed horizontally, the distance from the ground must be a little higher, to allow taller people to feel comfortable in front of the mirror.
Mirrors for the bathroom: the Acquaclick selection
Choosing bathroom mirrors can be challenging when you think about the vastness of products that are on sale.
The most traditional bathroom mirrors are the rectangular ones, to be installed both horizontally and vertically, which are made more particular by the backlighting. An interesting selection of backlit bathroom mirrors is that of Koh-I-Noor: there are different shapes and sizes and with different types of lighting. You can take a look here: Koh-i-Noor bathroom mirrors.
Even the manufacturers of bathroom furniture often market mirrors as well. In this case, more particular shapes are preferred, perhaps irregular, and which go perfectly with the furniture collections they have in their catalogue.
Another type of very comfortable and functional mirror is the container mirror.
The ones we recommend are from Duravit: they are products with one or two doors and are very convenient for storing make-up, toothbrush and toothpaste and everything that can be useful to have on hand when you are in front of the sink. Duravit mirror cabinets are here!
