Shower drain channels for a minimal shower tray

Posted on2022-06-30 237

A floor level shower is an indispensable element to make your bathroom extremely modern.

We are used to seeing the shower area consisting of a shower tray and shower box and the great variety of materials and colors of the shower trays currently on the market allows us to create extremely versatile environments by combining these two elements.
However, the flush-to-floor shower drain channels represent a revolutionary way of conceiving the shower space in which the tray is covered with tiles and is configured as a point of continuity with the floor of the rest of the bathroom or with the walls of the shower.
The drainage channels are equipped with a water-resistant stainless steel base and an upper grid that can also be made of steel with various shapes and decorations or can be tiled.
Usually the channel is positioned flush with the floor, then recessed into the shower screed, close to the wall, usually on the short side of the shower: this positioning is the most comfortable and functional because it allows you not to step on it while using the shower and to create a single slope in the shower tray to convey the water towards the drain.
Cleanline shower channels from Geberit
Geberit manufactures Cleanline stainless steel channels with the aim of obtaining an extremely modern and design product.
Geberit cleanline channels consist of a recessed part, which must be embedded in the floor, and an external part in steel with a clean and minimal design.
The recessed body of the channel is available in two versions depending on the height of the screed on which the shower will be built.
In the case of new buildings, for example, the space available for the screed is usually greater and, for this reason, an ideal built-in body has been created for screeds with a thickness of 90 to 200 mm which guarantees easier water drainage. in excess.
However, renovations are increasingly frequent and, in these cases, the space available for the screed is less: for this reason Geberit has created a built-in body suitable for those situations in which the thickness of the screed varies from 60 to 90 mm.
The aesthetic part of the duct is also designed so that it can adapt to most situations that may arise: there are two models, one for thin coatings (from 4 to 40 mm) and one for traditional coatings (from 8 to 40 mm ) which must be chosen on the basis of the thickness of the tile with which the shower tray will be covered.
All the external parts of Geberit Cleanline channels are adjustable according to the size of the shower area and, depending on the model, can range from a minimum of 30 cm to a maximum of 130 cm.
In addition to the floor channels, other drainage solutions are available for masonry shower trays, such as the Duofix wall drain by Geberit, ideal for installations on plasterboard walls or other types of light walls.
On Acquaclick our team of architects is available to help you in selecting the ideal shower channel for your bathroom.
